Independent Asbestos Consulting

EnviroTech Consulting Services LLC does not perform asbestos abatement.

Why that matters.

​

Because EnviroTech is not an abatement contractor, there is no financial incentive to identify materials as asbestos-containing to create abatement work. Our role is to inspect, sample, document, design, and verify,  not to remove the material.

This independent role helps protect the homeowner, building owner, contractor, and project team by providing objective asbestos consulting services before, during, and after asbestos-related work.

When an abatement contractor performs both the inspection/testing and the removal work, there can be a perceived or actual conflict of interest. EnviroTech serves as the owner’s representative, providing independent documentation and oversight throughout the process.​​

Asbestos Building Surveys

EnviroTech performs asbestos building surveys to identify suspect asbestos-containing building materials prior to renovation, demolition, repair, or maintenance activities.

AHERA Good Faith Surveys

​EnviroTech provides asbestos surveys consistent with AHERA inspection principles and commonly required Good Faith Survey expectations for renovation and demolition work.

​A Good Faith Survey is intended to identify asbestos-containing materials that may be impacted by planned work. This is an important step before disturbing building materials, especially in older homes, commercial buildings, schools, churches, fire stations, public facilities, and other structures.

​

The purpose of the survey is to help determine whether asbestos-containing materials are present so the owner or contractor can plan the project appropriately and avoid accidental disturbance of asbestos materials.

​Bulk Asbestos Sampling & Laboratory Analysis

EnviroTech collects bulk samples of suspect building materials and submits them to accredited laboratories for asbestos analysis.

​

Common materials sampled include:

  • Popcorn ceiling texture

  • Drywall joint compound and wall texture

  • Vinyl floor tile

  • Sheet flooring

Laboratory analysis is typically performed using Polarized Light Microscopy, commonly called PLM analysis. When appropriate, additional analysis, such as point counting, may be used to better quantify asbestos content.

AHERA Project Design & Abatement Planning

As a certified AHERA Project Designer, EnviroTech can prepare asbestos abatement project designs and work plans for projects involving asbestos-containing materials.
